What Information We Process

When you visit a supported retailer's product page, Hopper processes:

• Product Information: Product title, brand, model, and price from the page you're viewing
• Retailer Information: Which retailer's website you're shopping on
• Page URL: The current product page URL for context

Important: This information is only processed when you actively visit a product page on supported retailers. We do not track your browsing history or monitor pages outside of supported retail sites.

What We DON'T Collect

• Personal information (name, email, address, etc.)
• Payment or financial information
• Browsing history
• Cookies or tracking identifiers
• User accounts or profiles
• Location data

How We Use Product Information

Product information is used solely to:

• Search for price comparisons across other retailers
• Find similar or alternative products
• Display results in the extension popup
• Cache results temporarily (30 minutes) for performance

Data Storage & Retention

• Extension: Product data is stored temporarily in memory while you browse
• Server: Search results are cached for 30 minutes to improve performance
• No Permanent Storage: We do not permanently store any user or product data
• No User Profiles: Each session is independent with no user tracking

Third-Party Services

To provide price comparisons, we use:

• SerpAPI: For aggregating product prices from various retailers
• Retailer APIs: Direct connections to some retailers for accurate pricing

These services only receive product search queries, not any personal information.

Affiliate Disclosure

Some product links may include affiliate tracking codes. This means:

• We may earn a small commission if you make a purchase
• This does NOT affect the price you pay
• It helps support Hopper's development and keeps it free
• You can always navigate to retailers directly if preferred

Data Security

• All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption
• No sensitive data is collected or stored
• Our servers are secured and regularly updated
• We follow industry best practices for web security

Your Rights & Choices

• Control: The extension only activates on supported retail sites
• Disable: You can disable or uninstall the extension at any time
• No Account: Since we don't create user accounts, there's no data to delete
• Transparency: This policy clearly explains all data handling

Children's Privacy

Hopper is a general shopping tool and does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The extension requires no age verification as no personal data is collected.
